1988 Christmas Letter

“Dad’s Letters”

To all our children:

For the next 50 years of my life I have decided to bless you with some collectable written wisdom (misspelled words and all) and some things I hope you will keep.

Sadly, I’ll remember this year as the year my brother Connie died at the early age of 53. I loved my brother a lot and I miss him very much. I know I learned a lot from him and I know he would want us to accept our own challenges and to all learn from his success and failures.

Happily God dropped little Jacob upon us and he is a joy. Terri thought it not so easy but Bob smiled all the way. Gave Grandma another reason to shop….and soon he will be driving!

Mixed emotions…little?

Scott turned 21 and is still celebrating. Kelly is almost done with college and has launched a career in real estate. Jamie has become a 2 car single parent and Jessica is more like her mother every day – Lord help us all!

Dad got the “Boat” and everyone enjoyed it and the cabin in Lake Arrowhead. Hopefully everyone will use it happily for many long years. It’s a lot of work for all but its worth it.

And now onto 89.

Do we have plans to make those we love happy?

Can we meet challenges of life?

Will we stay close to God?

When we try to think of pleasing others before we please ourselves?

We can reach even greater heights. Do one special thing every day.

I know we will continue to love and help each other.

Our family is together! Our family is loving!

God loves ya!

Dad
