Knowing Kelly is the reader, it’s difficult to put some serious thoughts on paper. Every year we seem to have a new addition of some sort and some new reason to spend money…and this year it’s Smokie. Smokie is Scott’s black lab dog which we all enjoy.
It’s good to know the family is all healthy and are still as close as we are. Life does have its ups and downs. However I choose to look at the bright side whenever I can. And when I falter or make a mistake, I can count on at least one of you to bring it to my attention.
Mother and I have come to the conclusion the middle age has arrived. Basically we can tell by 3 items:
- The age of our children
- The age of our grandchildren
- The amount of sleep required
The cabin + boat remain. I would like to ask some additional help on both. This middle age thing sort of puts a shortage of time concerning all the things we would like to do. I hope all of you will continue to use it as much as you can.
It’s nice to see our children struggle with everyday decisions of life. It can be said that we are proud of our kids and proud of the way they conduct their lives.
We have a great appreciation for the fact that you do help each other out in any ways and in time of need would have no problem asking each other for assistance.
Hang onto the important things – love, prayer, respect, honesty, courtesy, integrity, etc and all those old fashioned things.
Material stuff is good, but hang on please.
Next year will I am sure be a good year with it’s expected highs and lows. The lows will come. The highs we have to work at.
Don’t forget the harder we work the more luck we have.
Make a friend today! Take a great relationship and make it better. Be a Barber. Take charge. Be assertive. Be a leader. Be humble (ha!). Just don’t be broke.
Be proud of each other. Each has different views. Be respectful of that. Don’t wait to be asked – offer. Be extra good to your spouse.
And we’re loving all our grandchildren. What a joy to watch them grow. We are also fortunate to have excellent in-laws (including son in-laws). This all adds to a Great Family.
Love ya,
Dad
…and check your oil!
