2017 Christmas Letter

Next year 2018 will mark a 30 year milestone!

30 years ago I started to write “Dad’s Christmas Letters”.

My brother Connie died at the early age of 53. God blessed us with Jake. #1 son Scott turned 21 – now he’s 50! And your Dad/Papa turned 50 – now to be 80!

As we start the New Year – you should know I was crying as I wrote this letter – and most likely crying now.

New Years Day has always been one of my favorite days. It’s always nice to reflect on the past – but the past is the past. It’s a lot more benefit to spend your energy on the future.

New Year is a time to start over – time to get better.

Time to learn.

Time to plan.

Time for new friends.

Time for new experiences.

Time to love.

Notes on 2017

Jessica goes back to school.

Jenny has a relationship.

Zack has soccer.

Zoe has a boyfriend.

Jake has career.

Max has college.

Jaxson has basketball.

Josh has marriage to be.

Mother and I are very proud of our grandchildren.

Those of you who have completed college. Those who are in college. And those who are planning college.

A special note of love for our special great grandchildren  – Luna and Scottie. What amazing beautiful ladies!

Dad’s trip to China with his very good girlfriend Vicki Lynch was a delight for many reasons.

The beauty and the country’s culture exceeded my best expectations.

I hope you all get to travel and see the world as we have.

A highlight for me in 2017 was pre-Thanksgiving party with our 4 children – Jamie, Terri, Kelly, Scott.

Lots of fun and sharing thoughts and memories.

AND everyone promised to make it an annual event.

Next year – Sept 17 2018 – mark it!

In addition I plan at least 2 other family events in 2018. With enough lead time for everyone planning.

In closing:

Be charitable.

Be kind to each other.

Go to church.

Plan the year.

Be a better listener.

Save your money!

Know that time does not stand still and wait for you.

Life is what you make of it.

Your gift this year is a reminder to enjoy life. So use the entertainment passes with our love.

We have been very lucky and very blessed.

God loves ya! And so do Mother and I.
